Friday, 09 February 2024
With the entries to this year's Private Client Awards now open we spoke to Dr Guillaume Grisel TEP, one of this year's judges about the Awards.

What does your firm or employer do, and what is your role?

Schellenberg Wittmer is a leading full-service Swiss law firm, with offices in Geneva, Zurich and Singapore. I am a partner with the 'Private Wealth' practice group, together with David Wilson TEP and Andrea Dorjee-Good TEP

What is the most important thing STEP does, in your opinion?

STEP ensures that all members worldwide have an excellent level of expertise and ethics. This allows you to call on STEP members with confidence.

You are one of the judges at this year’s Private Client Awards in September. What led you to get involved?

The awards are a good way of encouraging STEP members to give their best. The ceremony is a special moment where we can all come together.

What do you think makes a good Private Client Awards submission?

A complete, well-presented dossier illustrating the candidate's excellence through concrete examples.

What do you most like about your job?

Working with clients and colleagues from all over the world is an immense human fulfilment.

What would you say to a young person thinking of a career in this industry?

Become a STEP member. It's the best way to progress and build up a great network of colleagues and friends!

Which sectors are likely to see the strongest future growth?

The IT sector, and private client services for the elderly.

What trends do you see in the global private wealth sector at the moment?

There is a lot of interest in the benefits (and challenges) of new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and blockchain.
