Reporting to, and operating as a sub-committee of STEP Los Angeles, this satellite SIG was formed in early 2017 to raise the profile, understanding, and impact of family dynamics in family business succession.
The group’s mission is to help advisers better inform their clients not only as to the legal issues involved in international business succession but also the predicable family issues faced in designing the estate/succession plan. It aims to achieve this through a series of seminars, presentations, a USA newsletter, and conferences which create an awareness of the issues and possible solutions to help avoid (not eliminate) the almost predictable family conflicts and resulting consequences.
