The 2016 STEP Student Awards were presented on 18 November 2016 to the five fiduciary professionals who gained the highest marks in recent professional examinations.

The presentations were made at a black tie dinner attended by 200 industry professionals at the Royal Yacht Hotel. In her welcome speech, the Chair of STEP Jersey, Naomi Rive TEP, said: ‘The idea behind the awards is to reward the hard work, determination and achievement of those people who study for their STEP professional examinations. As well as congratulating the worthy award winners I would also like to pay tribute to the employers in the wealth management sector who encourage and support their people through long periods of training towards the STEP professional qualifications. A professional workforce is one of mainstays of our reputation within the global landscape in which we operate.’

Advocate Rive paid tribute to a former Chair of STEP Jersey, Edward Buckland TEP, who stepped down at the recent Branch AGM; ‘Ed, who will also shortly come to the end of his term of office as worldwide Chair of STEP, gave many years to the branch for which we are enormously grateful,’ she said.
