In recent months, there has been a trend of US citizens as well as non-EU citizens seeking legal advice in relation to selected countries special residency or citizenship programs. Our Webinar will provide high level information and pre-immigration planning about these types of programs in seven countries: Austria, Bahamas, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and the UK.

Presenters:

Alan Winston Granwell is a tax lawyer with nearly 50 years of experience in the area of international taxation. He advises corporate and private clients on cross-border planning, controversy and compliance and is a former International Tax Counsel and Director, Office of International Tax Affairs, U.S. Treasury Department.

Charlie Fowler advises resident non-domiciliaries, UK and international trustees and domestic clients on matters encompassing pre-immigration planning, residency and domicile rules, international tax planning and UK wills and estate planning. He also advises on various immigration matters, ranging from sponsor license applications, citizenship applications, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 visas.

John Matson is a corporate partner and is Head of International at Arthur Cox. He specializes in corporate law and has a broad corporate and commercial practice including advising upon domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, venture capital and private equity transactions. He also supervises the Immigrant Investor Programme practice of the firm.

K. Kelly Nottage is a Barrister and advises on family office creation and management, estate planning, trusts, taxation and asset structuring. Prior to forming Sovereign Advisors, Mr. Nottage was manager and head of the LATAM Desk at one of the oldest trust companies in The Bahamas. During his six years as a trust officer and manager, Mr. Nottage was responsible for the structuring and administration of trusts, foundations, funds and other fiduciary products primarily for Latin American clients.

Severiano Ortiz advises institutional and private clients, domestic and international, in tax planning matters, focusing on, cross-border transactions and tax efficient restructurings. He also advises clients with regard to pre-immigration, expatriation, cross-border income, gift, and estate tax; and offshore compliance.

Cynthia Pfister is a member of the Wofl Theiss tax team and specializes in international tax law, tax planning, corporate tax law, tax disputes and tax litigation. She also advises high net worth individuals on various tax aspects, including the recently enacted Austria legislation extending citizenship to descendants of victims of Nazi persecution.

Filipe Romão focuses his practice and adivses on tax law, including family businesses and hight net worth individuals, international tax planning, M&A, and tax inspections and disputes.

Nicola Saccardo is an Italian tax lawyer (and chartered accountant) resident in his firm's London office, who focuses on international and EU tax law, structuring cross-border corporate and finance transactions and tax planning for high net worth individuals.

Niklas Schmidt is a tax partner and heads the Wolf Theiss tax team.He has been admitted in Austria both as a lawyer and as a tax adviser. He is frequently engaged as a speaker at law conferences and has top rankings in international directories. Currently, he is a chair of the Private Client Tax Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Daniel Simon is the Senior Partner at Collyer Bristow and a member of the Private Wealth team. He has significant experience advising on all aspects of UK and international tax, trust and estate planning and charity law. In recent years, he has become a specialist in UK and US planning.

Luis Suarez De Centi is Head of Tax Pracitce at Uría Menéndez New York office. He regularly advises on international taxation, tax and corporate aspects of international M&A and group restructurings (particularly in Spain and Latin-America), real estate tax law and tax planning for both foreign investments in Spain and Spanish investments abroad, as well as tax investigations and tax litigation before the tax authorities and courts.
